  TYLER LOBB

Tyler Lobb grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is currently a 5th year Architectural Engineering student, with a mechanical emphasis, at The Pennsylvania State University.  He is pursuing a bachelor and master’s degree in the same field and is expecting to graduate in the spring of 2008.  Tyler originally got an interest in the field because of his father’s work as an architect.

Tyler later grew more interested with his experience in the working world.  He worked for a general contracting firm, Benchmark Construction Co., for four consecutive summers.  He spent two of those summers working as a carpenter’s assistant and the other two working as an assistant project manager.  Later Tyler was employed by an architectural engineering and lighting design firm, Reese Engineering Inc., once he decided that his true interest lied in the technologies, systems, and problems that come along with mechanical design.

While enrolled at Penn State, Tyler has become quite active in the student branch of The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).  He acted as the branch’s publicity chair through his school term of 2007-2008.  Tyler also spent a summer term studying in Rome, Italy through the Sede di Roma program.  Through this opportunity he was able to acquire an Architecture studies minor upon graduation.

On a personal level, Tyler has spent almost all years of his life participating in sports and other outdoor activities.  He has played soccer since a young age and has helped lead his high school team to a league championship.  He is also an avid skier and has traveled the country pursuing his interest.  Tyler has also been highly involved with volleyball, baseball, fishing and hiking.
